NREA Participates in the Egypt Policy Innovation Lab Workshop As part of continental efforts to advance the transition to renewable energy, the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) actively participated in the Policy Innovation Lab Workshop, in Cairo on 1–2 July 2025. The workshop was jointly organized by the African Union (AFREC & AUDA-NEPAD), the South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA), and Synerjies Centre NREA’s delegation included senior engineers and experts in renewable energy who contributed meaningfully to the strategic discussions and the co-creation of a foresight framework for renewable energy policy innovation in Africa. The Egyptian case study—aiming to generate 42% of electricity from clean energy resources by 2030—was a key focus throughout the sessions. The workshop brought together representatives from government institutions, the private sector, and international research organizations to support policy innovation and foster regional integration in renewable energy. This participation aligns with NREA’s ongoing efforts to share expertise and reinforce Egypt’s leadership in advancing clean energy across the African continent
