The New and Renewable Energy Authority publishes the 29th issue of the renewable energy bulletin NreaMeter

The New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) has issued its Twenty-Ninth Quarterly bulletin (NREAmeter), which includes monitoring of renewable energy activities during the second quarter of the fiscal year 2025/2026, which clarifies:


- Increasing the installed capacity of renewable energy in Egypt from 8.6 GW to 9.1 GW, with the addition of 500 MW with the entry of the first phase of the Obelisk  PV power plant into the grid, and the increase in total power generation by 8.5%, compared to 7,063 GWh compared to the same period last year, hydropower achieved the highest growth rate, as generation increased by 16.5%, wind energy continued to grow steadily with an increase in production by 7.5%, solar photovoltaic energy witnessed a growth of 6.1%, total fuel savings increased by 11.9%, avoided CO2 emissions increased by 11.9%, reflecting a clear improvement in climate change mitigation efforts.
